Tennis Academy

A ball machine feeds you on an open court. Each lesson explains what makes a stroke work, then you practise it with slow motion and a guide finger.

How to play

1 · Read the bounce

When the ball comes to you, a ring on the court closes onto the spot where it will bounce. Footprints show where to stand for a forehand or a backhand.

2 · Get there

Joystick (standard): put your left thumb anywhere on the left of the screen and push to run, let go to stop. A small push shuffles, a full push sprints. Your right thumb swings: hold it down on the right side (the racket goes back and the legs load), then swipe and lift. Both thumbs work at once.

Touch the court (Player settings): touch the court and your player runs there: near the net (or anywhere past it) to come in, the sides to go wide, the bottom of the screen to go back. A quick tap just moves; slide your finger slowly while holding to steer. Keep holding: the racket goes back and the legs load (the arc above your player fills) while you keep running. Start before the bounce.

3 · Swipe and lift at the sweet spot

A ring around the contact point closes at the perfect moment. Swipe and lift as it closes. The shape of the swipe picks the shot, its lean aims left or right, and a faster swipe hits harder.

Straight: flat
Curved: topspin
Down: slice
Short down: drop
Dip, then up: lob
Lean: aim
Serving and returning

Press and hold to toss (your knees bend while you hold). Swipe up and lift as the ball starts to drop. Straight = flat serve, curved = kick serve. Lean the swipe to aim wide or down the middle. Returning, you start deep and your player takes the first step to the return spot by itself; touch the court to take over.

Tournaments

Eight players, knockout: quarterfinal, semifinal, final. Play one on your own against the tour, or create one with friends online and share the code; bots fill the empty places. Outdoors the wind carries the ball: watch the compass under the pause button and the flags on the roof.

Sliding

Run hard and stop at a spot and your player slides into it: long slides on clay (leaving marks on the court), short ones on hard courts. A sliding stop keeps you balanced, so you can hit out of it.

The shot card

The little racket shows where the ball hit your strings: the middle is the sweet spot. Below it: speed, spin, height over the net, and four lights: Prep (ready before the bounce), Legs (held long enough), Balance (stopped before hitting), Timing.
